Spyderco Pacific Salt Black FRN Plain Edge Folding Knife (C91PBK) |
Points: 4
|
It's PlainEdge or SpyderEdge and is similar in shape and size to Spyderco's best-selling Endura model but with a slightly more rounded tip. All internal steel parts are treated as well making them impervious to rust and pitting and of course, salt. Those challenged by cleaning and maintaining their knives will find the Pacific Salt stays rust-free even if put away wet. The blade's hole is enlarged to 14mm for easier opening/closing with gloved, wet or cold hands.

Spyderco Military Black G-10 Plain Edge Folding Knife (C36GPBK) |
Points: 6
|
Spyderco Military - black blade.
A cornerstone in Spyderco's Save and Serve line up, the Military Model came about after someone asked Spyderco's owner Sal Glesser, "If your son were going into the military what folding knife would you send him with?" For certain, it had to meet the requirements of a high-performance, light-weight folder designed for hard use.

Spyderco TriAngle Sharpener (204MF) |
Points: 5
|
Chances are you've heard it said "a sharp knife is safer than a dull one". We believe this quote originated from first hand experience and find it to be true. The Sharpmaker was Spyderco's first product, which we made and sold before getting into the knife business. It's true -- First we made things sharp, then we made sharp things.
The Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker includes two sets of high alumina ceramic stones: A pair of medium-grit (brown) stones for aggressive sharpening and a set of fine (white) stones for professional grade finishing. The stones are triangular for sharpening Plainedges on the flat sides and SpyderEdges (serrations) on the corners. A furrow running the length of each stone lets you sharpen pointed items like fishhooks, darts and awls. Included is a set of brass safety rods protecting the users hands while sharpening. All components snap into the self-contained ABS plastic base and lid -- ready to travel with you. Die-cut into the base are keyed slots and holes fitted for the stones. They accurately set the stone's sharpening angle at a 30° (15° each side) or 40° (20° each side) for knives and a 12.5° scissor setting. Turn the base over, a channel lets you lay two stones side-by-side (flat-side up) for use as a benchstone. The lid snaps halfway over the base creating a handhold for stability while you're sharpening. Included is a set of brass safety rods to protect the users hands while sharpening. Ceramic stones, like glass, will break if dropped -- handle carefully. Use them dry, without oil, water or lubricants. To clean: scrub stones with a plastic scouring pad and powered abrasive cleaner, let air-dry. Also autoclave safe. System comes with instruction book and DVD.

Byrd ByrdRench (BY15PS) |

Unlike standard multitool fare it has a full-sized knife blade that opens/closes one handed and locks open like a real pocketknife. It also comes with a pocket clip and nylon sheath so if you’re a hang-it-on-a-belt-loop person or a clip-in-my-pocket-person, you’re covered. Sold Out

Spyderco Native Plain (C41PBK) |
Points: 5
|
Engineered for the human hand, the Native's ergonomic design maximizes cutting ability while minimizing discomfort and fatigue. This model is all about combining performance and comfort. Since the portion of the knife most in contact with the user is the handle, that became key while the model was in initial development on the drawing table. Sold Out

Spyderco Para Military G-10 Plain Edge (C81GP) |
Points: 9
|
The most awaited mid-sized survival knife of 2004. When Spyderco initially introduced our Military Model critics claimed it too large and more knife than the average user needed. Likewise, fans enthusiastically heralded the knife's big performance attributes. We arrive at the question knife manufacturers often ask themselves, "How do we satisfy both worlds and create a mid-sized knife that acts, cuts and performs like a larger knife?" Our answer was the Para Military. Sold Out

Spyderco Harpy (C08S) |
Points: 6
|
Like the claw of the Harpy eagle the C08 is shaped for controlled pulling cuts. The hawkbill blade shape originated in the marine/fishing industry where severing rope, line, webbing and netting is done at arm's length quickly and efficiently. The curving arc holds what you're cutting against the sharpened edge keeping it from slipping off the tip.
